In addition to posting classified ads, CalMutuals will allow members to post job openings in our weekly news alerts that reach hundreds of water professionals.

This past month, the State Water Resources Control Board extended its existing water conservation regulations.

The extension keeps in place monthly reporting of water use by urban water agencies, and reasonable prohibitions against wasteful practices such as watering lawns within 48 hours of a rainstorm, hosing off sidewalks and driveways, or over-watering landscaping to the point where water runs into the streets.

The Water Board stated that since June 2015, 2.43 million acre-feet of water have been saved — enough to supply more than 12 million people, close to a third of the state’s population, for a year. To view the conservation fact sheet, click here.

On February 28th, President Lisa Yamashita-Lopez, Secretary Dave Michalko, Director Jim Byerrum and Executive Director Adan Ortega attended the AWA Water Systems Workshop in Ventura to provide an update on the Association's activities.

The workshop was attended by various Ventura County water system representatives. Thank you to our legislative committee member, Robert Eranio, of Crestview Mutual Water Company for the invitation!

If you'd like us to attend a meeting in your area and provide an update on legislative and regulatory issues impacting mutual water companies, please contact us at Denise@CalMutuals.org

Over the next week, staff from the State Water Board Division of Drinking Water will conduct two public workshops and a webinar to describe the process for adoption of the Point-of-Use/Point of Entry Treatment Device Regulations.
