CalMutuals Board of Directors Elects Lisa Yamashita-Lopez as Chair and President

During a Board of Directors meeting on Wednesday, February 10th, CalMutuals Board Members confirmed Lisa Yamashita-Lopez of Rubio Cañon Land and Water Association as its new Chairperson and President following Jim Byerrum’s resignation.

“I am honored to serve as the Association’s President and Chairperson and thank my fellow board members for their support. The Association has come far within three years; growing in membership and building a positive reputation in the state as the voice of small systems. I have big shoes to fill but am looking forward to what lies ahead for our Association as we continue our mission of advocating on behalf of mutual water companies statewide.”

Under Yamashita’s new leadership, the board has elected to establish committees on regulation, legislation and finance and budget. The newly elected committees will serve to focus on specific issues impacting the Association and mutual water companies statewide.

Jim Byerrum thanked the dedication of the board and staff for their support during his tenure. If elected for another term, Byerrum will continue to serve as a member of the Board of Directors.
