Just as a follow up to my budget email sent last week, here are four key points for you regarding the government’s recently announced child care package:
- Officially comes into effect from 1 July 2017
- One means tested subsidy – for up to 100 hours of subsidised care per child per fortnight, paid directly to approved care service providers
- A cap of $10,000 per child for the total value of subsidies for family incomes $185,000 and above (up from $7,500 cap of the present CCR)
- Parents will have to prove they are working or studying for 24 hours in a two-week period to qualify for the subsidy.
Rogan Family Care will also tender to participate in the 2 year nanny pilot scheme or accept an invitation if issued.
