Key points from the budget child care package
View this email in your browser

May 2015

Just as a follow up to my budget email sent last week, here are four key points for you regarding the government’s recently announced child care package:

  • Officially comes into effect from 1 July 2017
  • One means tested subsidy – for up to 100 hours of subsidised care per child per fortnight, paid directly to approved care service providers
  • A cap of $10,000 per child for the total value of subsidies for family incomes $185,000 and above (up from $7,500 cap of the present CCR)
  • Parents will have to prove they are working or studying for 24 hours in a two-week period to qualify for the subsidy.

Rogan Family Care will also tender to participate in the 2 year nanny pilot scheme or accept an invitation if issued.

Kind regards
Julie Morrison

Illness
For new parents in particular: if your nanny is ill, both you and the nanny need to contact us. We will search for a replacement only if you request one, as some parents can manage to work from home for a day or call in a grandparent etc. As there is an extra cost involved in a replacement if your usual nanny has sick leave included in a contract, we will not act on a replacement until you request one. During office hours, 8.30am – 5.00pm call (03) 9670 7686 and out of hours please call 0400 370 005.
Nanny diaries
Hopefully most of you received a letter in the mail advising that Rogan Nanny Diaries will be delivered from May 2015. The team will be distributing these via usual support visits, with your prior permission being sought as usual, and we look forward to the diary becoming an invaluable tool for nannies and families.
Time sheets
For your information, nannies need to email their time sheets to office@roganfamilycare.com.au by noon on Tuesday 26 May, 9 June and 23 June.

Farewell to Ann Arnott
A few weeks ago we farewelled Ann Arnott who was book keeper at Rogan Family Care for many, many years. Ann had been with Susan Rogan through the growth of the business, assisting with financial matters and becoming a great support to both Susan and the business. We will miss her company each Wednesday and do hope to catch up with her from time to time in the future.
Tegan Kenny, supported by the finance team at IntoWork Australia, will ably assist parents and nannies with any financial questions from now on.
