I hope this newsletter finds you all well and in good health. I have been enjoying a much needed break from NYC and it's been an exciting and busy summer so far! I started off with a two week west coast tour with my band from NYC at the end of June. We began in Seattle, WA at Egan's Ballard Jam House and ended in Berkeley, CA with a performance and workshop at the California Jazz Conservatory. Big thank you to everyone that made it out to a show during our west coast tour!
After the tour finished I stayed in the bay area to teach at the Stanford Jazz Workshop in Palo Alto, CA for two weeks. I can't believe this was my 7th year at SJW! It definitely feels like my home away from home and I had so much fun working with the students. Teaching is one of the greatest gifts in life and I'm so appreciate for the opportunity to do what I love and learn new things every day.
Then I had a week off so my parents and I organized a road trip from the Bay Area to my hometown, Portland, OR and stopped at some of my favorite places: Healdsburg, CA for some wine tasting, Crater Lake National Park, and Ashland, OR. Now I'm at the airport heading to China for a three week duo tour with saxophonist, Hailey Niswanger. You can check out our tour schedule below. I won't have access to social media, my phone, or emails while I'm away. Send me an email if you need to reach me @ email@example.com and I'll respond when I'm back in the states on Aug 23rd! Below are some pictures and videos from my adventures this summer. Thanks for reading and for your continued support in my life and career!

Check out this new review of ‘Padme’ in honor of it’s 1-year anniversary last month!
Raul da Gama says, “In the nine compositions featured on Padme Caili O’Doherty shows her mastery of melodic invention, the art of songfulness in a compositional narrative and a wonderful sense of the textures and timbres of a variety of instruments.”
Purchase your copy of 'Padme' today or buy it for a friend or co-worker if you already have one! It's available on my website, iTunes and CD Baby. Somehow, the CD keeps getting cheaper on Amazon! Right now it's only $1.18!
