New Hope in a New Year

In the Scottish poem, "Auld Lang Syne," Robert Burns writes:
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind?

It is certain that as we continue our mission in 2017 that we will reflect upon our past and all of you who have supported our endeavor. Never forgetting your generosity of spirit that brings so much hope to the children and families in Blount County who need our assistance.

Our many thanks to all who continue to help us Restore Hope

Hope by the Numbers:

A Reflection of 2016

This has been an extremely busy year for the New Hope team. Since January 2016, we have served over 505 children! Many people may see this number and only feel heartbroken. However, we are choosing to see this as uplifting. We are making a difference in these children’s lives.
During this year, we introduced the SMART technique to our therapy program. This therapy technique is called Sensory Motor Arousal Regulation Treatment (SMART).  It works to help children to calm their sensory motor inputs and allow them to focus during their therapy sessions. This treatment has been extremely successful with the 74 children seen by our therapy department this year.

Our supporters know that we are an organization that serves the abused children in our community. However, not as many people know that we are a safe space for all children who are suffering. We collaborate with the Department of Child Services to help children who are being removed from a bad situation. In the 565 hours dedicated to Safe Space, we have provided clothing, toiletries, blankets, and stuffed animals to every child who is in need before they are transitioned to a foster home.

Our people are our programs.  When you support New Hope’s programs, you are investing in the amazing staff who make these programs possible.  So from the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for supporting us and the children and families that we serve.
