Mud Walls & Metal Roofs

Stories from the Mountains
Written by Jodi
“Can you help us build a church?” One of the three district pastors we work with had just proposed the question.
Many things began to run through DJ’s mind… Our mission isn’t to build churches… he is talking about new churches in small communities though, some of the very places we’ve been doing medical work… maybe if they build the walls and we provide materials for the roofs… Aha! The Lansing Adventist School had just asked if we had any specific projects that they could sponsor for their Penny Wars fundraiser…
“Yes! Yes, I think we could,” DJ began to get excited as he and the pastor talked through more specifics.

The Lansing School fundraiser covered the first four church roofs. Then a visiting volunteer wanted to sponsor the church roof in the village she did medical work in. Now we have agreed to help with two more church roofs in the next few months.

It is very gratifying to see the work that began years ago coming to fruition! We hope you enjoy the pictures of the churches in varios stages of construction.
Join us this December in reading through God's great plan of salvation using "The Jesse Tree"  (pattern book by Darcy James).

Jonah’s Story

This story is of a calling and its rejection, the way God keeps us on track and how He cares about ALL people, not just His “chosen” ones. We also learn that God prefers that the sinner change his ways as opposed to punishing him. What a message the world needs to hear today!

Waiting on the Lord

If God hears our cries, cares about us, and is all-powerful to fix our problems, why does it take so long to get an answer? We develop patience by waiting, as did the people of Israel. The watchtower is a reminder of our need to learn watchful waiting.
