Week 28 Broadcaster

What a tumultuous time in which we live!  The pandemic has taken thousands of lives. Soldiers are still being sent to danger zones, and some are not returning. Riots began last summer in a number of cities with death and destruction resulting.  We watch the nightly news about fighting among politicians and random shootings in malls. Our children have to do safety drills at least twice a year to prevent the loss of life in the event of a crazed person coming into our building. Children are suffering because they lack direction or have busy parents that do not have enough time for them. Teen depression and suicide rates have shown a dramatic rise in the last Covid-19 year. Friction develops in families. What do we need?

Because of people’s sinful flesh, Satan, and other sinful people, we reach the frustration level more than we would like. We all desire to have peaceful and quiet lives?  How do we get it? On Easter Sunday evening, the disciples were huddled together in the upper room. They were afraid for their very lives.  If the chief priests could crucify Jesus, what would they do to the disciples?  All of a sudden, Jesus appears in the midst of them. Now the disciples were terrified!  What does the all-knowing Savior immediately do?  He tells them, “Peace, be with you!”  To reassure them that it really was Jesus, he had them put their finger in his hands and touch his side. How relieved the disciples were. How calm their hearts became. Jesus’ appearance to the disciples assured them that they were still his brothers even though they had abandoned him. The sin that separated them from God was removed in Jesus suffering, death, and resurrection. The Peace Jesus brings is the peace between God and man. Our sins are forgiven. We are God’s redeemed children. Eternal life is ours.

The peace which only Jesus can bring, is exactly what the world needs. People need to have calm hearts because they know Jesus forgives them. The joy and peace that Easter brings is our through faith. May we remember to share it with others. What a privilege we have each day to share the peace only Jesus can give in our classrooms!  Have a happy Easter!

Hero Squad Donations Are Due Soon!

This is our final week participating in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Hero Squad program.  As we finish our program this week, there’s still time to support!  We need your help to reach our school goal!  Coin Boxes and Collection Envelopes are due THIS Thursday, April 1.

Hero Squad inspires students to always move closer to their goals and work to make the world a better place.  By participating in Hero Squad, your student has learned critical self-management skills like goal-setting and self-motivation as well as important social awareness skills like empathy and respect for others.

Please have your student share reminders with friends and family to make donations towards our school goal.  It’s not too late to set up your page and join our schools efforts!  Visit, find our school and select “Join Your Classroom Team”. After setting up your page, share it on social media, email, text messages and make phone calls to friends and family on why it’s important to join the Hero Squad. Special, limited edition Hero Gear will be provided to students reaching fundraising milestones.

Thank you so much for your support!  Every hero needs a squad!

Superhero Dress Up Day
This Wednesday, March 31 is Superhero Dress Up day to support the Hero Squad. Your child was given a flier with suggestions and activities to create their own Superhero Name, Costume and Superpowers. Have your child bring their completed sheet on Wednesday. If we have enough student participation, our principal Mr. Schultz will dress in his very own Superhero costume and climb on top of school for the Hero Squad!

Stuck for a Buck
To wrap up our Fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, our last activity will be "Stuck for a Buck". This Thursday, April 1 Mrs. Hagedorn will be "stuck" to the wall with duct tape! Student can buy 1 foot of duct tape for 1 dollar, there is no limit! All money collected will be added to our school goal for the Hero Squad. What a fun way to celebrate and reach our goal!
