Enjoy Summer!

For the students, summer vacation begins Friday. The children are excited and looking forward to warmer weather and many fun activities that you will do as a family. Does the learning stop in summer? It doesn’t have to stop for three months.
You can make many activities this summer a learning experience by putting some thought to what your child’s interests are. Reading books that meet your child’s interest can be obtained by going to the local library. Six Flags, Pizza Hut, Scholastic and others have a summer reading program in which your child can participate by signing up online.
You can help your child learn when you go to places like the zoo, the lake, or on vacation to another state. When you go to the lake, talk about the types of trees or flowers that grow nearby. You can discuss the various species of fish and how they are alike or different from one another. On vacation, use maps to show where you are traveling and have your child name places you visited. Discuss the new sites seen for the first time or what historical events or economic activities took place there.
You can have your child write about what he or she learned at the activity to keep writing skills sharp. Sending thank you letters helps in more ways than one. The ideas for summer learning are endless.
As we enter summer, the faculty wishes God’s richest blessings to you and your children! Please stay in touch with Jesus through home devotions and attending church. Relax and have fun on vacation, and help your child’s skills stay sharp through a variety of methods. All this will help your child be better prepared for next school year!

PTS Plans

Thank you to all the parents who participated in the PTS planning meeting this past Wednesday. Some excellent ideas were shared and plans were made for the upcoming year. Please mark the Back to School picnic on your calendar for Tuesday, August 27. All families are invited to join us for fellowship and the opportunity to learn what the PTS plans are for the school year.

Field Day

Bethany’s Annual Field Day will be on Wednesday, May 22. Each student is part of a team that will compete in track events in the morning and fun games in the afternoon. Everyone will receive a shirt in their team color. All are welcome to come and watch the fun. Don’t forget the sunscreen.

Report Cards

Report cards will be sent home next week Friday along with MAP tests progress.

The closing service and graduation of the 8th graders will be at 6:30 PM. The Kindergarten will sing a song and receive Bibles while the 8th graders will receive their diplomas. Grades 1-7 will be singing a song.  Following the service, there will be a reception with cake and ice cream for the graduates.

Thank You

The faculty thanks you for all your cooperation and assistance in so many ways this past school year. It was a year in which our Lord Jesus led his children closer to him through the teaching of his Word. The faculty wishes God’s blessings to all this summer. Please stay safe! And we look forward to seeing you on home visits in early August and on Wednesday, August 7, at 6 PM for registration night. The first day of school is August 21 at 8 AM.
