Be Faithful

Next Thursday is graduation for our 8th grade class. It will be the 100th graduation at Bethany Lutheran School. Over the years, we have had nearly 800 students graduate. As we draw to the close of this century of God’s blessings, we have time to reflect on their schooling.
What have they learned?  Are they ready for high school? Over the years, Bethany students have traditionally done well on national achievement tests. Nearly 75 % of the 8th graders scored at the 75th percentile in math, reading, science, and language. Nearly 75% have made the honor roll in high school at least at one point in their careers. As they matriculated to college, many have gone on to careers in business, teaching, law, and the like. A number of them have become pastors and teachers to serve in the public ministry. By using their gifts to the best of their abilities, the graduates have been faithful to their Lord.
However, there is one very important lesson we pray that they have learned. God wants them to be faithful, even to the point of death, and he will give them a crown of life. Jesus wants each one of them to remain in the true faith until he calls them home to glory. How do they stay in the faith? The answer is to be in the Word. Attending church and hearing God’s wonderful promises is what strengthens faith. Knowing the devil is going to work overtime to tempt them to sin is another reason to be in the Word. Daily devotions and Bible readings are seriously important. The Holy Spirit works through the Word they read. We teachers wish them God’s richest blessings!  May we work together to encourage them to be faithful to Jesus and his Word.

Lost and Found

In the next few day we will be having the a table outside at the time of pick up. If you wouldn't be so kind to get out of your car and check the table to see if any of it belongs to your child. If not claimed we will be donating it on the last day of school to charity.

Field Day

On Tuesday, May 25th there will be no hot lunch served. Please send a sack lunch with your child. We also there won't be any microwaves to use this day.

100th Anniversary

Thank you to all who attended the 100th Anniversary Celebration last Sunday at Shoreland.  A special thank you to all who helped by serving on committees, by setting up on Saturday, and by assisting on Sunday as well as taking down. We had 279 in attendance for the service and 200 for the meal. There were 20 former teachers and principals in attendance. Approximately, 40 people went to school for the Open House afterward. What a blessing God has given us through our school for these past 100 years. May he continue to richly bless us as we begin the next 100 years as Kenosha Lutheran Academy.
