Sharetribe Flex allows you to build either a marketplace website, native apps for iOS or Android (or any other platform for that matter), or all three.
So far, building a marketplace website has been a lot faster than building a mobile app because of Flex Template for Web (FTW). While FTW is responsive and works great also on mobile browsers, there's no official Flex Template for building a native mobile app yet.
Apiko, a Ukrainian agency focusing on online marketplaces, discovered this gap and decided to create an open-source mobile template for building a native iOS or Android app on top of Flex.
"We saw the huge potential of Sharetribe Flex,” says Apiko’s CEO Mykola Striletskyi on their decision to build the mobile template. "More and more industries today are powered by online marketplaces, and Flex is the perfect solution for anyone to build a completely unique marketplace fast, whether it's web or mobile."
The Apiko Flex Mobile Client is an example of a fully functional rental marketplace, built with React Native. You can test it right away with your smartphone. If you have an iPhone, you can download the app with TestFlight. If you have an Android phone, you can download it from Google Play.
Feel free to create test users and listings and do searches. Note: all the data you see in the marketplace is for test purposes only, they are not actual listings.
Apiko’s mobile Flex template features
The mobile template presents an example of a typical rental marketplace transaction flow. A provider can sign up and add the products they’re renting, the pricing, multiple photos, and the days when the products are available.
