Spring has sprung and with it comes new results from the Sting companies!

While 2020 was a tough year in many ways, the Sting companies still produced strong results that we’re very proud over:
  • Sales increased by more than 20% to a combined 344 MEUR
  • The number of employees rose by more than 20% to a total of 3327
  • An all-time high in terms of investments – 155 MEUR in 2020 to an accumulated value of 759 MEUR

We are now welcoming applications to our award-winning accelerator program! The selected companies will get an investment of 500 000 SEK by Propel Capital, individual business coaching from experienced entrepreneurs, free recruitment and team development support and more. As a Sting company, you will be a part of a massive community of other like-minded entrepreneurs and get access to a huge partner and investor network. Sting company highlights
SurfCleaner raises 48.6 MSEK 

Sustaintech company SurfCleaner has closed a 48.6 funding round and is now valued at 250 MSEK. The investment will be used to strengthen the company's sales and marketing team for faster expansion in the Nordics and internationally. SurfCleaner has developed the world's first combined skimmer and separator technology for water purification. The company will also launch new models for more areas of use in industrial water treatment.
Sophie Stenbeck invests in Ridely 

Horsetech company Ridely has closed a new financing round with several well-known investors, including Sophie Stenbeck. The investment will be used to speed-up their growth and to continue developing the product to create more value to its users. Today, the Ridely app helping equestrians to reach their full potential has 150 000 users. Ridely's fastest growing market is the US where the company recently launched its product.   

Proptech company Pigello raises 4 MSEK  

Pigello (previously known as Atlas Fastighetssystem), has raised 4 MSEK from PropTech Farm to scale-up its growth and to prepare for international expansion. Pigello challenges the traditional real estate industry with its SaaS-based platform that atomizes property management. 
Co-living company Allihoop raises 7.5 MSEK 

Allihoop, offering co-living as a service to ex-pats and young talent in Stockholm, has succesfully raised 7.5 MSEK from PropTech farm, private investors and Antler. The company is also opening 300 new homes in 2021 and is expecting to tenfold its capacity. Allihoop is also aiming to expand both in Sweden and internationally.

  • The equastrian company Ridesum raises 9.2 MSEK from Zenith Group, Hööks Hästsport and private investors
  • Vagon raises 4.3 MSEK to transform how creatives work with performance-savvy design apps
  • Edtech company GroPlay receives 2 MSEK from IMPACY Edtech and continues to grow fast. The company expects to double its revenues in 2021, passing the 10 MSEK milestone
  • Momentus, CodeZyme, Cling Systems, loop-it and yayloh receives the "Innovative Startups" grant by Vinnova
  • Edtech company edChild has been selected for the 2021 Education for Sustainable Development Award from World OMEP 
  • Gazzine, "Spotify for journalism", wins the European Publishers award in category "Business"
  • Edtech company Citationsy reaches a major milestone of 1 million refences done by their platform
  • Sustaintech company Evolar receives the "Bona Postulata prize", a local business award that wants to encourage Uppland companies with great potential 
  • LocalLife, creating circular resource flows in cities, wins the Commercialization prize 2021 by Ignite Sweden 
  • Roza Azimi, Co-founder and CMO of edtech company Snaptive, wins the "Future Promise prize" at the annual Marketing Manager of the Year event
  • Healthtech company Care to Translate passes 280 000 users and 3.7 translations made in the app. The company also acquires Mälarshuset Röntgen as a new customer
  • Planboo signs Hack Your Closet and Movesgood as new customers
  • Wehype, experts in gaming influencer marketing, reached a major milestone: During a 3h Twitch campaign with +200 content creators signed by Wehype streaming the game Enlisted, they reached 498 000 concurrent viewers and the number one spot on Twitch 
  • Mental health company BlueCall adds 70+ new customers, including well-known brands such us Care of Carl, Borg Owilli, and Semantix
  • Medtech company Tada Medical's patented breakaway connector ReLink Care is now CE approved
  • Regtech company Clever Compliance recruits Simon Krook and Jonai Wallander to its sales team
  • Fashiontech company Brilea is about to launch its patent-pending laundry detergent that restores clothes to new. Be an early adopter and register for pre-signups
  • William Berg, founder and CEO of Cling Systems, is invited as a guest-speaker at a Li-ion Battery Summit in China 
Highlights from Sting
Sting recruits Krim Talia as a new business coach 

Krim Talia is a successful serial entrepreneur and an experienced investor. He has co-founded several successful companies, including Nanologica AB (publ. listed) and Exeger AB, and is the founder and sole owner of 3TInvest, one of Sweden’s most active seed round Investors with a portfolio of almost 30 companies. He will bring expertise to the Sting team in both the deeptech and life science areas as well as in how to transform research into a successful startup.
Swedish Energy Council backs the Sustainable Energy Action initiative 

Sustainable Energy Action, powered by Sting, KTH Innovation, KTH Holding, THINGS and Ignite Sweden, is one of the six initiatives that has been chosen for funding from the Swedish Energy Agency. The mission of Sustainable Energy Action is to boost commercialization of energy and climate related innovations in Sweden. Read more about the initiative here
Three new companies joins Sting Incubate 

Labelf, Univid and Wergonic have been selected to Sting Incubate. Labelf has created a platform for organizations to unlock the power of Artificial Intelligence. Univid is an event platform that makes virtual events, meetings and webinars over 15 people more interactive, visually beautiful and easy-to-use. Wergonic provides digital ergonomics tools to improve employee health and reduce costs for companies.
