Assessment Visits

If you haven't already done so, remember to book your assessment visits with us between 3rd October 2016 - 15th December 2016.

Prior to your assessment visit, please complete or update your self-assessment online by visiting our website to upload any pieces of evidence to support your progress.

We will aim to speak to more staff at our assessment visits and will be asking a few questions to staff members about the health and well-being of staff within your organisation.
If you feel you are not quite ready to apply for the Bronze Award Level, do not forget that you can apply for the 'Physical Activity Certificate' - please log into your members area on our website, where you can apply for the certificate.  This is a great stepping stone to achieving the full award in the future.
The Workplace Health award is a great framework to recognise the good practice in place within your organisations and also the assessment visits are a great opportunity for your organisation to plan for the year ahead, discuss new ideas and access support available to you throughout Cornwall.

Public Health England Health Campaigns

PHE has published its first set of health and work infographics, which have been produced in collaboration with The Work Foundation.
They  can be accessed here.  Please do disseminate it to other colleagues.

The Stop Smoking Service can offer a variety of levels of support for any of your staff members who would like to take part in the Stoptober Challenge this year.

Stoptober is a national campaign which encourages people to remain smoke-free for 28 days during October. Everyone who signs up receives a free 'Quit Kit'.  Many participants then go on to remain smoke-free.

Stoptober launched on 22nd September enabling smokers time to prepare to quit.  The Stop Smoking Service can  offer:
•    Information on how to access support to quit
•    An employer Stoptober pack (supply may be limited to first-come, first-served)
•    Awareness session in the workplace to offer advice on where to receive support to individuals
•    Weekly sessions (for six weeks) to workplaces which have a large number of Stoptober participants, to provide smoking cessation products and support

The Stop Smoking Service usually tailor sessions to suit the workplace. For example, some workplaces choose a workplace group awareness session, while others prefer us to set up a stall in the canteen and speak to individuals.

Weekly sessions can as a group, a drop-in or appointments - which everworks best for the employer.
