Fall Already!

Congratulations everyone on an incredible season so far. We've tackled xx races, hosted our first race, ran through the desert from LA --> Vegas, learned how to swim, registered for our first races and welcomed our first time triathletes and watched some of our teammates tackle half and full Ironman distances!

We are here to celebrate everyone's success no matter how big or small. We hope everyone sticks around through the off season and beyond. Many folks still have races left. So let's all not fall off just yet."If you do not race you must CHEER!"

Rock The Creek Relay

We are a Charity Partner with JRR this running season. We volunteered earlier in the year with them for the American Odyssey Relay. They loved us then and would like to work with us more in the future.

We need 5-10 more volunteers which would translate to $750 in donations from the organization to DT. In addition, it's a great organization with a community first approach. To volunteer fill out the form in the button below. This is a fun experience.

Mindathlon [mind•ath•luh•n]

Join us and experience our second annual Mindathlon Triathlon Experience at Stripe 3 Adidas in College Park, a fundraiser to support District Triathlon and their goal to tackle The Speed Project™.

You will get the opportunity to:

Get your Zumba on! Michelle Jones, is going to get our bodies moving as we head into the holiday season.
Start Time: 930am

Participate in a 5k! Let’s explore College Park and the University of Maryland together. All paces (runners and walkers) are welcome. After the run/walk, we’ll make sure you’ll have some hydration and snacks to enjoy.
Start Time: 11:00am

**Mental health breakout session**

End with Dynamic Stretching! with Chickaro Martin The Health Architect
Start Time: 12:30pm

Suggestion donation for the event: $10, $20, $50, $100 = Whatever you give will be appreciated! All donations are tax deductible.

If you can’t join us but still want to support, feel free to leave a donation HERE

Come for the entire day or pick a workout and just come for that portion. Either way, we want to see you!  There will be raffles and giveaways!

This event is a two part effort to:

ONE: Raise awareness around mental and physical health in the DMV area and give the opportunity to anyone to take part to this innovative and impactful experience!

TWO: Raise Funds to help District Triathlon’s team break “The Speed Project Record." The Speed Project 5.0 is a 340-mile running relay from Los Angeles to Las Vegas. It is an invite only race and District Triathlon was granted one of the coveted spots.

As we prepare to join 50 other teams from more than 10 countries, we need your help to break the 36:53:00 record! We can’t do it alone and we hope you’ll help us as we prepare to participate in one of the most strenuous (and maybe a little crazy!) races that exist!

Off Season Social Rides | Workouts

As we move into the Off Season we will have more social rides and maintenance workouts such as bootcamps, yoga, cycling workshops and runs. Look out for updates on social media and/or the GroupMe.

We will start with social "espresso rides." First one will be Saturday 10/13 7:30 am at Colada Coffee Shop on 14th Street. The route will be provided the night before. This is a no drop group ride.

Membership News | Elections

If you are interested in or know someone you think would be interested in serving on a not-for-profit Board we will be having an election in November to nominate new Board members for the 2019.

Voting opens November 1, 2016, and ends December 1, 2016, at 11:59 p.m. The new board will be announced at our Holiday Party December 8th.

General Board responsibilities include a DESIRE to serve on a working board, understand and be involved in the mission of District Triathlon, attend meetings on the second Tuesday of every month from 6 pm - 9 pm, attend a two day board retreat in the month of February 2019, being a District Triathlon member (current or ability to join), a $100 tax deductible donation to District Triathlon, your annual membership dues and anywhere between 4 - 8 hours of work outside of board meetings. We are still a "working" board with a goal to generate enough funding to hire staff.

Make a difference in the Triathlon community!
Occasionally District Triathlon will have openings for volunteers to serve on a committee or task force. We are currently seeking volunteer candidates of all backgrounds who share our passion for the sport of triathlon and other multisport disciplines and want to assist in helping us grow in providing necessary resources so all members of our community can reach their full potential. If you are interested in impacting the triathlon and multisport community, please message
