THINGS TO EXPECT SUNDAY
Most of you receiving this email are members of District Triathlon. By now you all have signed up to volunteer, participate, donated or plan to donate. Thank you so much for an amazing first year and we have many awesome updates and things to look forward to going into season 2.
What the Hell is a Mindathlon?
Mind•ath•luh n is a multistage fitness event involving the stimulation and awareness of Mental AND Physical Health. These both affect how we think, feel and act as we cope with life. Life is stressful we get it, this is something to help.
What Time Should I Arrive?
Volunteers should plan to meet at 8:15 outside of Stripe 3 Adidas to start getting setup. We will be putting up the DT canopy, flags, water stations.
**Registration for the event will happen inside the store towards the back starting at 9:00am.**
What Should I Bring?
Bring yourselves a smile, your transition mat (if you have one) and rock your DT gear.
Will I Be Able to Purchase DT Gear?
Yes, Adidas is offering a 10% discount to all participants and 10% of sales will be donated back to the Team.
Why Are we Doing This?
This event is a two part effort to:
ONE: Raise awareness around mental and physical health in the DMV area and give the opportunity to anyone to take part to this innovative and impactful experience!
TWO: Raise Funds to help District Triathlon’s team break “The Speed Project Record”. The Speed Project 4.0 is a 340-mile running relay from Los Angeles to Las Vegas. It is an invite only race and District Triathlon was granted one of the coveted spots.
As we prepare to join 50 other teams from more than 10 countries, we need your help to break the 36:53:00 record! We can’t do it alone and we hope you’ll help us as we prepare to participate in one of the most strenuous (and maybe a little crazy!) races that exist!
Speed Project Team Members ARE?
Ladies: Faren Campbell, Allison Lee,
Fellas: Billy Mathis, Lloyd Henry, Carlton Fairley, Marcus Fitts, Eddie Harrell, Gaftie Marlow
