Weekly Wednesday Bricks

Every Wednesday we meet at the FAR LEFT donut shaped parking lot of East Potomac Golf Course at 6:15PM. Roll at 6:30PM Sharp. Traffic is usually pretty bad so plan ahead to make it on time. We do an Hour bike workout looping around Hains Point and return for a 30 minute run. Bring bike locks, hydration. The workout is provided the day before so you can upload it to your Garmin, WAHOO or print out a cue sheet of the workout.

National Triathlon Week

COMMUNITY · 23 JUNE

National Triathlon Week is a nationwide initiative to celebrate the sport of triathlon and all its constituency groups. It is taking place from June 24-30, 2019. This week is geared toward education, celebration and participation in the multisport lifestyle. A different theme will be featured each day, starting with a spotlight on each discipline of triathlon: swim, bike and run. Don’t be fooled — National Triathlon Week is a celebration of not only triathletes, but all members of the multisport community, including officials, coaches, race directors, families and friends of triathletes and more.

There are many ways to get involved in National Triathlon Week! Whether you have 5 minutes or a full day, you’ll find a way to join the celebration. Check out the Get Involved page for ideas on how to share your excitement for the sport of triathlon, and be sure to use the hashtag #TriWeek on social media. This is your chance to share your story and compete against friends and triathletes across the country for daily prizes.

Membership Spotlight: Carl Alleyne

What is your reason why?
Joining because I wanted to challenge myself athletically in a different manner than most african Americans currently do.

What brought you to District Tri?
Originally I thought District Tri was a swim class at Takoma aquatic center. Turns out they were a group of triathletes that quickly convinced me how fun the sport is and to give it a try.

What are your A, B and/or C race for 2019?
A race - Miami Man 70.3
B race - Waterman’s 70.3
C race - Kinetic Tri It Triathlon (oly distance)

What is your #1 tip you would give to a Beginner?
Advice for a beginner would be don’t be dismayed by early trainings. They will be very hard and very humbling. Push through.
