Hello readers, and welcome to the year-end issue of my newsletter.

What? David has a newsletter? Yes, but it's been dormant these past few months. (Previous issues can be viewed on my website).

2015: Recap

On January 20th, 2015, I published my debut novel, Peer Through Time.
In the U.S., the e-book is available on AmazonBarnes & Noble, Apple, and other outlets, while the softcover print version is exclusively on Amazon and CreateSpace.

Self-publishing a book was a scary undertaking. After a multi-year process of writing, seeking feedback, re-writing, and professional editing, I finally felt it was compelling enough to publish. I made sure to release a professional product, including the cover design. This time last year, I was thrilled, motivated, and nervous as hell.

Throughout the next few months, my fears subsided and I went into marketing mode. In February, some awesome friends held a book-release party in my honor. In May, I went on a virtual book tour. In July, I wrote up a six-month "look back" at the process of publishing a novel. After that, I was relatively quiet on social media, my blog, and my newsletter, as I focused on writing the next book.

2016: A look ahead

Gravity's Loop begins thirty years after the conclusion of Peer Through Time, taking place in 1966 and 2109. In the past timeline, Sam Westmoreland is a psychiatrist in a lunatic asylum, where he suspects his boss of conducting unethical experiments on the patients. His pursuit of answers leads him to a reunion with his estranged mother, Carmela, whose tall tales of time travel have always clashed with Sam's reality-based worldview. In the future timeline, Sam's descendant, Vittie Westmoreland, is learning to control the shortcut through spacetime that has wreaked havoc on her family. Or is she the one wreaking havoc?

I've re-booted and re-started this novel more than once—always keeping my core characters, so never starting over from scratch—and my New Year's resolution is to get a draft out to beta-readers by mid-year, still aiming for a 2016 publication date. If you're interested in reading and providing feedback on an early draft (or know someone who might be), please contact me at davidtaj68@comcast.net, or through my website. The best candidates for providing honest feedback are those who do not know me personally.

Thank you so much for reading. Enjoy the holiday season, and don't let the Krampus get you.
