New Education Goal 3 Indicator Analysis Published

USAID ECCN recently completed a study of a sample of USAID project Performance Monitoring and Evaluation Plans (PMEPs) to learn how these reflected key education crisis and conflict concepts such as access, retention, equity, safety, conflict sensitivity and more. The study highlighted a need for stronger indicators related to these topics, among other findings.

Protecting Education from Attack Webcast

USAID ECCN is pleased to announce a webcast featuring the work of the Global Coalition to Protect Education from Attack (GCPEA). The webcast will include an introduction to the issue of attacks on education and present guidance for protecting schools and universities from attack within the framework of the Safe Schools Declaration.

Join us on June 30 from 9:30-10:30 am Eastern Time for this webcast. The presenters are Diya Nijhowne with GCPEA and Margaret Sinclair with PEIC and GCPEA and the webcast will be facilitated by Nina Papadopoulos with USAID's Office of Education.

Just Posted: Accelerated Education Webcast Recording

USAID ECCN, in partnership with the Inter-Agency Accelerated Education Working Group (AEWG), hosted a webcast on June 9 featuring a first preview of the AEWG’s Accelerated Education pocket guide, featuring 10 key principles of Accelerated Education.

Close to 150 joined with representatives from organizations like USAID, UNICEF, FHI 360, and Creative Associates. If you missed the webcast you can view the recording, access resources and participate in an ongoing discussion on the USAID ECCN website. 

Spotlight

USAID ECCN and Teachers College will co-host an event on Urban Refugees in late September. Help shape this event and find out how to participate by sharing your ideas via a quick questionnaire.

Learning for Peace is hosting the Faces of Peace: Final Learning for Peace Programme Event on June 30. The event will include a panel discussion, exhibition and cocktail reception.
