Accepting Applications Now for Two ECCN Consultancies

1. ECCN is seeking a short-term research consultant to study the short-term impact of INEE’s upcoming training in Conflict Sensitive Education (CSE), scheduled to take place in Amman in mid-July 2017. The study will track training participants’ use and dissemination of the CSE Pack and CSE training for capacity building and for the development and implementation of CSE policy and practice. The insights gained from this research will contribute to knowledge production at INEE and inform future planning and strategies for CSE dissemination and advocacy. 2. ECCN is seeking an expert in education and countering violent extremism to prepare a Guidance Note for USAID. Building off the work of the INEE Education Policy Working Group and UNESCO’s Preventing Violent Extremism through Education, the consultant will develop a USAID-Specific Guidance note to:

a) frame Agency definitions and work streams related to the objective of countering violent extremism that maps the Agency’s work in CVE, Resilience, CMM, DRG, Fragility Working Group and D-ISIS;
b) guide USAID staff and partners on key principles for education programs in reducing or preventing violent extremism;
c) describe evidence-based interventions that may contribute to a  reduction in propensity towards violent extremism.

This note will situate guidance within USAID’s and the US government’s policies and operational guidance on CVE and education, including the USAID Education Strategy. This guidance note will be developed with support from an expert advisory/review panel consisting of 3-4 US government staff identified by USAID.
