ECCN and Results for Development (R4D) invite you to the Webcast: What is the Role of Affordable Non-State Schools in Crisis and Conflict.

On May 22, at 10:00 a.m. (ET), R4D will present findings from a new report exploring the role of affordable non-state schools in crisis and conflict contexts. Panelists from R4D will present findings from El Salvador and Kaduna State, Nigeria that will lead into a discussion on how governments and donors can best support non-state education providers in crisis and conflict contexts. The webcast will be moderated by Suezan Lee and Nina Papadopoulos
from USAID.

Background: In 2016, over 109 million children were living in fragile settings. In such settings, a government’s ability to provide education can be severely hampered, and affordable non-state schools can respond to the unmet demand for education. Although there is significant research on both non-state education and education in crisis and conflict-affected countries, little has been written about their intersection.
