Rapid Education and Risk Analysis: El Salvador Report Published

The recently published RERA for El Salvador was commissioned by the USAID Mission in El Salvador to provide a fast “snapshot” of how the education sector is interacting with various risks—particularly gang violence and insecurity. The report provides insightful findings and offers actionable recommendations for USAID strategy and programming.

New Blog: Gender Equity in Somalia

Many of us are all too familiar with the barriers that girls and young women face to attend and stay in school, especially in EiCC contexts. Jennifer Narron writes on the blog this week about how a Mercy Corps led education project in Somalia used results from a gender assessment to adapt programming in order to make gender equity more of a reality.

A recently published UNESCO Global Education Monitoring report tells us that 263 million children and youth are out of school. Data includes figures on primary school age, lower secondary school age and the first ever estimate on upper secondary school age out of school children and youth.
