On October 3, 2016, USAID ECCN invites you to attend The Urban Refugee Education Roundtable bringing together diverse actors from the United Nations, non-governmental organizations, universities, donor agencies, and other interested stakeholders. The objective of the event is to critically reflect on what we know and don’t know about urban refugee education and to help shape a collaborative agenda for research, policy and practice.
USAID ECCN’s previous call to all members to help plan the event and participate yielded a great range of contributions. We are excited to bring to you now over a dozen invited presenters representing diverse insights from UNHCR, Teachers College-Columbia University, USAID, the State Department, DFID, INEE, Harvard University, Norwegian Refugee Council, Refugee Education Trust, Relief International, and Urban Refugees.
Please stay tuned for the first agenda to be released shortly and fill out the initial RSVP survey to express your interest as we will cap the event at 100 participants. The all-day event at Georgetown University Hotel and Conference Center in Washington, DC promises to be a one-of-a-kind gathering and we are looking forward to having as many organizations participate as possible.
- USAID ECCN Support Team
The event is co-sponsored by Teachers College-Columbia University - whose research on urban refugee education was funded by the U.S. Department of State.
