Well - it looks like we're getting another short blast of winter! But, predictions are for a much warmer trend starting tomorrow.

This 4-H E-News is a good for 4-H "hi-lights" but our WSU Extension Lincoln-Adams website is still an important source of more information.

Yesterday, I created a new "4-H Events Calendar" Page. This is different from the "Calendar" link. I know it's confusing but try both of them to look for information. the "4-H Events Calendar" is a LIST format so you can see items and dates from now through the end of the 4-H year.

Click HERE for the 4-H Events Calendar Page Link
You can find this link under 4-H Youth Development in the navigation menu of our website.

The other "Calendar" is linked from the top right of most of our website pages. It has clickable links for different events on the calendar days.
Click HERE for the Lincoln-Adams Extension Calendar.

If you find out about events that might be of interest to 4-H folk, please send information including organizer's contact info and or links or fliers to me. If they are appropriate (there are WSU and 4-H promotional guidelines I must follow), I will add to the one or both of our web calendars.

Have a great week!

Karen Robertson, WSU Extension Program Assistant
Lincoln-Adams or 509-659-3209

My name is Dakota Chapman and I am currently interning for Washington State University Extension Office for Lincoln and Adams County.

For my internship I am open to doing workshops on Livestock Safety, Parliamentary Procedure, Public Speaking and Officer Roles for you club or at other 4-H events.

If you’re group has other topics they would like to explore, let me know! I might be able to help or find someone who can! You can contact me through my email if you have any questions or requests!

Livestock Showing
Teaches Life Lessons

At nearly every cattle show I attend with my kids, the judge offers a few extra words of wisdom prior to selecting the grand champion. Our recent trip to the National Western Stock Show in Denver was no different.

At nearly every cattle show I attend with my kids, the judge offers a few extra words of wisdom prior to selecting the grand champion. Our recent trip to the National Western Stock Show in Denver was no different.

My daughter, Kassidy, was fortunate enough to place first or second in her class with her market steer each of the last four years. Those steers have returned to the ring later, to walk across the green carpet in hopes of being named grand or reserve champion. During this year’s show, judge, Dave Duello said something I won’t soon forget. Duello said, “Surround yourself with good people and keep dreaming.”

No matter what you are doing or where you are going, that is true.
