Most of today's notices are reminders of items mentioned last week. However there are a few important "heads-up" tid-bits of information included. I encourage you to take the time to read carefully so you don't miss something that may concern you or your club. 

We look forward to seeing many of you at either the Lincoln County Fair and/or the Wheat Land Communities Fair.

Exhibits Needed For Lincoln Co. Fair!

Contact the Fair Office at 509-725-5161 for possible extended entry deadlines!
Livestock load in and all exhibits except baking & floral received Wednesday, August 23rd after 3:30 pm.
There is a possible change in the weigh-in times for Livestock. Contact the Fair for details.
The Fair officially opens at 8 am on Thursday, Aug. 24th and officially closes the evening of Saturday, Aug. 27th.
Exhibits released Sunday morning, August 28th.

Reminder: Items Needed for 4-H Silent Auction!
Donations accepted from ANYONE!
Items can be dropped off at Fairgrounds Office or Hub International. Contact Joy Wilken for details at 509-257-2319.

This year 4-H Leaders' Councils may face additional demands to help support individuals and activities in the 4-H program. The Silent Auction at the Lincoln Co. Fair is the Lincoln Co. 4-H Leaders' Council's main fundraiser to provide support to YOUR 4-H program!

Chartered 4-H Clubs can earn 50% of the donations collected AFTER the first $100 from donated items designated from the club.

Ritzville WSU Extension Office!

REMINDER - DUE AUG. 15th:
Livestock Entries and 4-H Record Books!
Record Books to be turned in during office hours at the Ritzville WSU Extension Office prior to 4:30 p.m. on August. 15th. Livestock entry forms and Camping Forms can also be turned in at the Extension Office.

WLCF Superintendent Meeting: Sunday, August 13th - 2 PM in the Knuth Building. ALL Department Superintendents should attend!

General exhibits will be accepted between the hours of 2pm and 8pm on August 30 at the fairgrounds.

Livestock animals are accepted on August 30 between 4pm and 8pm. Market livestock exhibitors are reminded to be current with their quality assurance certification. Exhibitors are to bring one copy of their health form at the time of weigh in and keep a copy for their own records. There will be a mandatory meeting at 8:15pm in the livestock barn.

On Sunday, fair exhibits will be released at 2pm. ALL VEHICLES WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ON FAIRGROUNDS ON SUNDAY UNTIL AFTER 2PM FOR LOADING UP.

Reminder: It's mosquito season!  Protect your equines from West Nile Virus!
So far this summer there have been several WNV cases in equines in counties surrounding the Lincoln-Adams area.

Beef Fitting Guidelines at Grant County Fair
 
Minimal fitting will be allowed on Wednesday during the Beef Market classes.  This will include the use of adhesives and foams only.  No paint, dye or powder will be allowed. Animals need to be washed and clean for the Thursday Blow and Go Showmanship Classes.  Animal approved products only are to be used.
 
If animals are identified during Showmanship as still having product on them, the exhibitor will be asked to clean them.  If need be, a wash crew will be available to clean the animal and the exhibitor will be charged $25.00.
 
With the approved removers we have available today, the exhibitor should be able to easily remove all product applied.

Fall Shooting Sports Instructor Training

Would you like to lead 4-H youth in an archery or riflery project?
This training is for you!  
Fall training for 4-H archery and riflery instructors is scheduled in Mt. Vernon (Skagit County)!  Enrolled 4-H volunteers from all counties are welcome to sign up. 
 
October 26, Thursday: Online session for all at 7 p.m.
October 28, Saturday: Riflery 9-5:00 in Mt. Vernon
October 29, Sunday: Archery 9-5:00 in Mt. Vernon
