July is here and that means it's Parks and Recreation Month! Every day, in communities across the country, the people of parks and recreation are providing essential services and making their communities better places to live, work and play. North Olmsted Parks & Recreation will be celebrating by highlighting the great work our staff does throughout the month.
 
Adult & Youth Programming
Whether you’re a first time player or a veteran of youth football, North Olmsted Parks & Recreation will offer the program for you this fall. Choose between K - 6th grade flag football, 3rd - 4th grade modified rookie tackle football and 5th - 6th grade tackle football. Practice will begin the first week of August. 
 
Group Exercise Classes
Your favorite exercise classes have returned to North Olmsted Recreation Center. GetFit!, Cardio Dance, Boot Camp, SilverSneakers Classic and more. Want to join a class and not leave the comforts of your home? We have added virtual classes, which can be done right in your own living room. 
 
Gymnastics Classes
The North Olmsted Recreation Center and North Olmsted Gymnastics offer non-competitive recreational gymnastics programming throughout the year. Gymnasts will move progressively through class levels as they establish basic skills, build upon their foundation and progress to more advanced technical moves. Whether you are just starting out or grew up on parallel bars, we have the class for you.
 
Ice Rink Rehabilitation
Our patrons will be excited about the upcoming changes as our ice rink will be getting an overhaul in 2020. While the configuration of the ice will remain unchanged (main rink and studio rink), many improvements are in store, which will improve the experience for our skaters and spectators alike. Key elements of the project include the following: replacement of the sand floor system, dasher boards, rink glass, doors and player boxes, installation of a new fixed storefront glass wall system to separate the rink area from the warming area and renovation of the warming area and reconfiguration of the concession area.
 
One-on-One Swim Lessons
This summer, we are offering one-on-one swim lessons. Each lesson will be 30 minutes in length. Your time with our instructor will be completely based on the individual’s needs and goals. This is a great way for beginners to get comfortable in the water, intermediate swimmers to improve upon their skills and advanced swimmers to refine their skills.
 
Water Exercise Classes
The pool is great for exercise because the water offers resistance while reducing the impact of land-based exercises. Water fitness classes are a fun way to exercise, and the low-impact workout builds strength and flexibility for people of all ages.
