This new online course launches on December 17th and is created in partnership with Asha Impact, one of India's leading impact investment and policy advocacy platforms. In the course, you will learn about impact investing, and how the power of finance can generate financial returns and tackle today's global challenges.
Student entrepreneurs at JSiE, Shine Varghese & Abhishek Ganesh were invited to participate in the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) University program at the University of Chicago on October 19-21, 2018.
Created in 2007, the CGI University Program works to develop and engage youth leaders on college campuses around the world. Annually, the initiative hosts an event where students, school leadership and others convene to develop solutions to global issues. In the last decade, students have made more than 6,250 commitments and been awarded close to $3 million in funding through the CGI University initiative.
Shine and Abhishek were selected based on their social entrepreneurship project proposal, Jagriti, which is being incubated by JSiE.
JSiE at the GSG Impact Summit
The Global Steering Group (GSG) for Impact Investing convened 905 impact leaders from 54 countries in Delhi on October 7-8th, 2018. Sir Ronald Cohen, Al Gore, Ratan Tata, Prince Max, and Darren Walker were some of the highlight speakers. Four different $1 BILLION USD funds were announced with the aim to unlock impact capital at scale, along with a new impact revolution manifesto and digital campaign. (www.onimpactnow.org). JSiE was a knowledge partner at for the summit and 10 JGU students supported the conference as volunteers.
The FutureLearn Social Enterprise Program wins teaching excellence award in Portugal.
The FutureLearn Social Enterprise Program, a series of online courses in partnership with Middlesex University Business School, has been taken by 15,883 students from 159 countries around the world.
Using the Freeth/Kirkpatrick’s impact evaluation model, it was found the FutureLearn Social Enterprise Program was perceived as positive with evidence of changes in behavior, as well as, benefits and opportunities for both individuals and organizations.
