MASTERS PROGRAM IS BACK FOR TOP CLIA AGENTS

Hello <<First Name>>

As our industry works towards revival, the challenges for travel agents are greater than ever. To help CLIA agents stand out in a competitive environment, we’ve been working hard to offer education opportunities that are more relevant and tightly focussed on helping to secure sales.

This week we’re pleased to announce that our top-shelf Masters Program is back, opening a pathway for members to achieve the highest level of CLIA qualification available. This year we have redesigned the program in a new online format, recognising the new environment we work in and ensuring the door remains open to progression.

Like past years, the Masters Program is aimed at taking travel agents beyond mainstream selling, helping them to lift revenue and stand out from the crowd. For 2021, we’ve enhanced and updated the content to provide the most practical training possible, and have created an online format we think you’ll find engaging and supportive.

Masters is open to CLIA agents who have achieved Ambassador status, and will be offered twice this year, in June and September. You can find out more below, along with details on other CLIA events and education opportunities. Spaces are limited, so pre-register your interest in Masters here.

While CLIA’s most important focus continues to be on the discussions we’re having with governments to open a pathway to resumption, we’ll continue to make sure we support our CLIA agent members in a way that puts them first in our industry’s recovery.

Stay safe,

Joel Katz
Managing Director, CLIA Australasia

COVID-19 UPDATE

With 100% testing of all passengers and crew, and extensive new health protocols covering every aspect of a passenger’s cruise journey, CLIA’s member policy on COVID-19 forms some of the most extensive measures to be found anywhere in the travel industry.

CLIA is lobbying hard to ensure Australian and New Zealand governments understand these measures and to push for their implementation as part of a pathway to resumption. To help members and stakeholders understand this process and support our messaging, we’ve created a new fact sheet that explains our Model for Responsible Sailing.
This fact sheet can be found on our expanded #WeAreCruise pages, where you’ll also find other resources including social media tiles, guides on how to approach your Member of Parliament, and videos you can share to raise awareness of the impact the cruise suspension is having on local businesses, including travel agents. Visit WeAreCruise.org to find out more.

CLIA and our supporters have also been busy on social media, where we’ve shared news, videos, interviews and media coverage that helps spread our messages. Follow CLIA Australasia’s Facebook and LinkedIn pages to see some of our latest news and help share our messages in your own communities.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Our Masters Program is back!

CLIA’s elite Masters Program is back - reinvented for the new era and primed to advance your sales and marketing skills to the highest level.

Redesigned in an online format, the Masters Program will give you the insight you need to forge a unique position in a competitive retail landscape. It takes travel agents into an environment beyond mainstream selling, helping them to pursue new revenue streams and create a unique brand differentiation.

Previously conducted at sea in an annual on-board conference, this year’s Masters Program will be structured as a six-week online course, offered twice during the year. Open to CLIA member agents who have achieved Ambassador status, the program will provide an opportunity to attain CLIA Cruise Masters status, the highest qualification for CLIA cruise specialists.

The CLIA Masters Program will begin on June 7 and will be offered again from September 20, 2021. After completing the Masters course and assignment, agents will receive 100 accreditation points and enter the prestigious CLIA Cruise Masters ranks with perks including a higher search ranking on the CLIA Australasia website.

Visit our website to find out more about the 2021 Masters Program and its content. Spaces are limited so pre-register your interest here.

Get on board for our Ocean Debut Virtual Showcase

Monday 10 - Friday 14 May 2021

As the industry works to achieve resumption in destinations around the world, cruise lines are preparing to unveil a succession of spectacular new ships that will help re-energize cruising and offer exciting new experiences for guests.

To highlight the wealth of new cruise ships ready to launch and help drive our industry’s recovery, CLIA Australasia is launching its first-ever Ocean Debut Showcase, a week-long virtual event.

Running each weekday between Monday 10 and Friday 14 May 2021, the showcase will provide travel agents with valuable information about the latest ships and all their new features. Each ship will be profiled in detail, covering ship facts; dining, entertainment and accommodation options; public spaces; new innovative features and designs; and what type of experience guests can expect when they step on board.

Participants will earn three CLIA Accreditation points by completing a short post-event quiz for each cruise line presentation they attend live. In addition, there are five fabulous prize packs to be won, simply by collecting the codeword given during each live session.

PLUS – one lucky agent will win a 7 night MSC cruise for two guests in a balcony stateroom, for travel to any destination in 2022, with special thanks to MSC Cruises

To be in the running to win the cruise, please ensure you register for the presentation on MSC Virtuosa and MSC Seashore. You’ll need to tune in live, collect MSC’s codeword and answer every MSC Cruises quiz question correctly at the end of the presentation. Five bonus entries to the draw will be given to those who register and tune in live every day of the showcase between Monday 10th and Friday 14th May – to hear about all 19 featured ships that are scheduled to debut in 2021. Select here for more details.

To get involved, browse the full schedule of presentations below and register for your preferred sessions. More information on each of the new ships featured in the showcase can be found here.
