Calendar UPDATE to Restore School Days

The Eugene School District has adjusted this year's school calendar to restore five of the school days that were missed due to hazardous winter weather.

Four school days will be made up at the end of the school year in June. The new final day for students is Thursday, June 22.

At elementary schools, the fifth school day will be restored on May 5, which was previously scheduled to be a no-school day for teacher planning and professional development. Certain other days also have been changed in the revised calendar to balance the school year.

Please check our school’s calendar for additional no-school and early-release days that are not part of the districtwide calendar. For more calendar information and other formats, please visit www.4j.lane.edu/calendars.

Learn more about technology in our district at the next PTO meeting.

Steve Menachemson, the 4J Director of Technology, will be coming to talk and answer questions.

In addition: A vote for a $10,000 expenditure request to cover two six-month interns will take place at our next PTO meeting on Tuesday, February 21st.

The PTO is asking for $10,000 to pay for two International Society of Educational and Cultural Exchange interns from Japan for a six month period.  These interns will be a part of the Japanese Assistant Teacher Program and will assist our staff during the school day just as our short term interns have done for years. See last week's newsletter for more detailed info.
