How Did it Go?
My Soul Looked Back and Wondered
We were thrilled to see Derek Scott's play and the Selinsgrove High School's Tolerance Troupe skits performed to a full house! Thank you for your support and for attending if you were able to make it!
If a weekday performance didn't fit your schedule, help the Gaspipe Theatre Company bring it to other venues. You can get in touch by emailing!
Events like this are truly valuable when they inspire action. The Selinsgrove High School Tolerance Troupe is poised to expand, and a new community organization has sprung from our efforts to address racial equity in our region. You can find Onyx CommUnity on Facebook, and email us to help the Tolerance Troupe reach their potential.

THRIVE: A Healthy CommUnity Event
Sunday, June 5, 2016
Hufnagle Park
Lewisburg, PA 17837
1 – 4 pm

Are you aware that some insurance companies are now covering complementary and integrative health care options such as massage therapy, acupuncture and other holistic treatments? Health care providers and insurance companies are increasingly valuing preventive care. By taking a more active role in your own health and wellness, you can actually save money on health care insurance premiums and this proactive rather than reactive approach increases your resilience to life’s inevitable stressors, allowing you to THRIVE. Thrive: A Healthy Community event will present ways to integrate self-care into your daily routine by showcasing complementary and integrative holistic care opportunities right here in the Susquehanna Valley. This preventative care comes in a wide variety of methods and can be accessible to anyone regardless of age, ability or income. Discover the myriad of ways to integrate complementary care into your health plan and look forward to wellness as a lifestyle. Don’t just live: THRIVE!

The CommUnity Zone in Lewisburg is seeking holistic health and wellness practitioners for an outdoor celebration.  We are envisioning an afternoon filled with demonstrations, treatments and classes that promote joyful, healthy living.  In addition, we hope to have loads of entertainment and good food throughout the afternoon. As a practitioner, we invite you to creatively share your expertise with the community by joining us for this special event.

Last year we held, “Good Neighbors: A Beloved Community event.” It reached over 300 community non-profit members with an average booth engagement of over 40 people. We expect an even larger turnout for this year’s THRIVE event.  If joining us as a health practitioner participant resonates with you, please return the booth agreement (available here) with your check to the address above.  We look forward to your ideas of how you might best demonstrate what you have to offer during this celebration. Space is limited so secure your spot today. For more information, contact the CommUnity Zone at the address above or email us at

A note from the Donald Heiter Community Center
Raise the Region is an incredibly valuable opportunity for the Donald Heiter Community Center to raise the funds necessary to support programming like the After School Program and the Summer Day Camp. Please consider logging on and lending a hand to support the health and education of our youth!
Kids getting out of school before your workday ends? The Donald Heiter Community Center’s After School Program is an excellent way to fill the gap. Help with homework, an afternoon snack, and supervised play are waiting for your little one! Find more info and an application at
There are several No School Activity Days coming up - we provide games, activities, arts and crafts, lunch, and snacks, so parents do not have to take a day off from work. Download the application for 21 - 25, & 28 March here!
