Our latest immersive light project, Lewisburg in Lights, is already providing an uplifting experience for all who come to Lewisburg. Our hope is that it has helped the businesses thrive against the odds. We know how important it is to support the livelihoods of local artists and businesses we love, particularly during this time of economic hardship. With the global outbreak of COVID-19, amongst the hardest hit are small businesses, restaurants, theatres and museums.
I want to thank the following people who have joined me on this amazing journey of bringing light to Lewisburg: Ellen Ruby, Scotta Magnelli, Paula Myers, Lynne Ragusea, Ellison Strosser, Steve Gibson, Andy Seal, Chip Facka and Heath Hansum for their combined artistic vision, and to the many who have supported us along the way with their donations.
In addition to the lights, we are providing music and performance. Our first performance, streaming live is Wax Monk: An experience of Sound Immersion and Projections in which to reflect, relax and restore, featuring the immersive dome of sound and light. This exciting experience will be performed in the beautiful downtown Campus Theatre with Andy Seal and friends. This exciting performance is scheduled to be held on the 27th of December at 2 pm.
We are excited to begin the second phase of Lewisburg in Lights – an ongoing project – to further explore ways to enhance the experience of coming to our town, and invite all members of our community to join our creative Light Brigade as we imagine new and interesting ways to bring light to our beautiful town. No idea is too big or too small. The more players we have the better it will be. Please join us!!!!!

It is with great pleasure that we announce a new partnership with Pennsylvania Interfaith Power & Light. PA IPL is a statewide community of congregations, faith-based organizations, and individuals of faith responding to climate change as an ethical and moral issue, through advocacy, education, energy conservation, energy efficiency, stewardship, and the use and promotion of clean, renewable energy.
Founded in 2010 PA IPL is the Pennsylvania affiliate of Interfaith Power & Light, a national religious response to the threat of climate change. The new Executive Director of PA IPL may be a familiar face though; David Heayn-Menendez has been living in Lewisburg since 2014. He currently serves as the Borough Council member for the 3rd Ward in Lewisburg and previously taught at Susquehanna University.
The organization takes climate change as a moral issue and one that demands an immediate and ongoing response, especially in the Frontline communities most impacted by climate change. PA IPL is therefore committed to climate justice and David plans in 2021 to create Lewisburg as a distribution center for PA IPL's Creation Care Program in the Northern Tier. This program includes tree planting, the removal of invasive species, and much more.
We are excited for this new partnership, the great work PA IPL will do for our community, and the communities the organization will help create connect throughout the region.
