Freedom to (Safely) Roam

We recently shared a taste of the new identity for our friends at Cabana, and we’re happy to be back with a fully loaded case study. Guided by our thoughtful research and strategy, we arrived at a cool, calm and collected visual identity. It’s positively soothing—and it helped establish the start-up as a captivating leader in the growing industry.

As some of us *finally* feel ready to emerge from our quasi-post-quarantine cocoons, the attraction to their wanderlust-friendly luxe amenities won’t be going anywhere.

Inquiring Minds

We talk about collaboration a lot around here, and with good reason. For one, we’re true believers in its expansive power within our studio. And, in an ideal world we’re able to develop long-term relationships with organizations and become true thought partners. Our work with the University of Chicago has evolved into just that model.

We’re close to launching a renovated website for David Axelrod’s Institute of Politics, a notable incubator for political and public service leadership. Currently, we're deep in discovery for a complete Neubauer Collegium site overhaul. The Collegium funds and nurtures humanistic research across university disciplines, and is a place where cross-pollination breeds possibility and creativity. As you can probably imagine, we were eager to dig our teeth into their work and discover how we might elevate their online presence. Stay tuned for updates on all things maroon.

2020 Grant for Good

How about this for some good news? It’s Grant for Good time! If you’re new to these parts, we award the in-kind grant to one nonprofit organization every year. Partnerships typically result in comprehensive brand strategies, visual identities, websites and communication tools. The specific scope and set of deliverables are tailor-made to meet the needs and capabilities of each grantee, ensuring they can use the tools we create for years to come.

We’re in the home stretch with the extremely good folks at PCR and are ready to find a new partner for 2022. Details can be found on the Grant for Good website and applications are due by 5pm CST on Friday, December 3.

Crosspark, Hold the Challenge

One of many studio adventures we missed last year was the annual Crosspark Challenge. In years past, we’ve competed at the sports with local studios Someoddpilot, OneDesign, and Leo Burnett Dept of Design

This year, we welcomed our pals from SPAN and Normal and got the crews back together for a chill hang. Full of pizza and injury-free, it felt glorious to spend time together. Balls were tossed, beverages were swilled, and our hearts felt a little bit fuller.
