Annual AIMS Conference

The Association of Illinois Montessori Schools is holding their annual conference in February 2015. A balance of offerings with practical content will be presneted.  Keynote speaker, Dr. Sharon Maxwell, Boston psychologist, will speak on Technology and Impact on Sexuality. Seeds are miniature plants packed for transportation. The importance of seeds cannot be overstated. Seeds are the keystone of all plant and animal life on earth. Without seeds, there would not be forests or varieties of trees and shrubs, no flowers, no bees, ants, butterflies, humans, four-legged or winged animals, nor any sounds of life.

Its fairly rare that elementary or middle schools have kitchens for students to use, either from a lack of budget or lack of space. The challenge inspired the design of the new Charlie Cart, a low-cost mobile kitchen that can move from classroom to classroom or even outdoors.

Located in Central Texas, Nature's Classroom Institute in Bruceville is close to most major Texas cities including Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, and Houston. The new EcoVillage sits in the woodlands of nearly 290 acres adjacent to a zoo and vegetable garden. It can house up to 72 people and a kitchen and dining room powered by solar cells.
