February: Shortest Month, Still Plenty to Celebrate

Between African American History Month, American Heart Month, Valentine's Day, Groundhog Day, President's Day and the upcoming Leap Year, there's a good deal to discuss in your classroom this month.

African American History Month Activities
African American History Month is an annual celebration of achievements by African Americans and a time for recognizing the central role of African Americans in U.S. history. Check out these ideas for incorporating this month-long celebration into your classroom.
"I am constantly amazed at the care and enjoyment you all put into this program. I am inspired each time I come here."
-Kemonni, Innovation Montessori Ocoee

"Thank you for the incredible week in Florida! Our students had a wonderful time learning about the Florida Gulf Coast, wildlife and the marine ecosystem. We greatly appreciate your thoughtfulness when planning activities for our senior class students. We are looking forward to the trip next year!"
-Teachers from Keystone School

"This was my very first NCI and it was an absolute delight. The instructors were passionate and excited to discuss with the students and I enjoyed observing how NCI educates via immersion."
-Sarah, Montessori School of Waukesha
"Thank you for making our senior trip absolutely amazing! My favorite part was starting the fire and making some really good tea. I've learned so much from the hikes and canoeing. I never knew there were so many animals surrounding us. Not only have I learned about the wilderness, I had a lot of fun at dinner and on trivia night."
-Yugi, Senior at Keystone School

"Thank you for teaching me so much, I will never look at nature the same. The world is so amazing, thank you for teaching me that : ) "
-Averie, 6th grade at Innovation Montessori Ocoee
