NCI Executive Director in China

Later this month, Geoffrey Bishop, NCI Executive Director and Founder, will travel to China to support Montessori teachers, parents and students in their efforts to reengage curiosity in the outdoors, to support outdoor play and promote school gardening opportunities. Geoffrey will be working with Etonkids, a group of early childhood schools based in Beijing. He hopes that by sharing his experiences, the goals of Etonkids will be brought to fruition: to enhance and encourage more outdoor time and to invest in spaces that connect children back to the natural world.

One of the main sources of human and animal sustenance comes from the grass family Gramineae. The wheat plant is one of the most well-known members of this family. It has been revered for thousands of years, having been cultivated before the recorded history of humans. Other grains include: amaranth, oats, rye, brown rice, quinoa, millet, sorghum, and corn.
