Training - Universal Credit 2
Following last year's successful UC training RAS is pleased to announce that a new round of training events will kick off in Glasgow on Friday 29 January at Renfield St Stephen's. As with last year there will be a second event in Arbroath and for 2016 we are having a third leg of the tour, this time in Stewarton.

This course will address specific issues relating to the benefit in a more in depth manner than was possible in UC1. The areas to be covered are The Claimant Commitment and Sanctions regime, Work and it’s interaction with Universal Credit, Housing Costs (rent not mortgage payments) and UC and in addition we will also look at the planned changes to Universal Credit announced in the summer budget and their implications.

If you wish a place at any of the above free events please send an e-mail requesting such, giving your first and second options re date and venue to
The last day for applications is Friday 15 January 2016 and in the first instance will be dealt with on a first come first served basis so it's advise that applications are made as early as possible.

RAS Members Meeting

The next RAS Members Meeting will be held on Friday 19 February at the Bathgate Partnership Centre in, erm, Bathgate!

More details will follow in the new year but given the success of the last meeting in Motherwell we hope there will be a great turnout again. The presentations from the Motherwell event are attached below.
Other news...
RAS has a new Board in place and there will be more on them and their plans in the next issue. With devolution of benefits, changes through UC and the horrendous cuts to local government coming thick and fast there is lots for RAS to do. The next Brassic, early in 2016, will give more details of what the Board sees as the priorities for RAS. In the meantime have a great festive period and look out for more from RAS next month. Cheers!
