Project Developments

SOPHIA Midterm review meeting in Brussels
The SOPHIA project Midterm review took place the 29th of January 2016 at the AAL CMU in Brussels after the regular project meeting that was organized for the day before. During the review meeting the project reviewers, the CMU representative and the representative of the NCP Cyprus had the opportunity to fully review progress of the project for the first 15 months. A thorough presentation of the different Work Packages was held and a live demo of the system prototype (platform) developed ahead of schedule, allowed the reviewers to obtain in-depth information of the current state of developments, user involvement, future steps and commercial plans. The result of the midterm review was more than positive for the SOPHIA consortium and signalled a promising commercial launch. According to the results of the review the project achieved most of its objectives and technical goals for the period with relatively minor deviations. The end-user involvement was ranked very well verifying the emphasis of the consortium into placing the elderly citizens in the centre of the design and development process.

The SOPHIA consortium wishes to thank the reviewers, the AAL CMU representative and the Cypriot NCP for their positive evaluation and especially the useful feedback that will enable the project to come closer to a successful launch.
