Rainy Naha; 'Voices from Awatovi'

Rainy Naha, 1-3 pm Saturday, June 15, 2019
We are delighted to have our first Santa Fe pottery demo with Rainy Naha!  She is a daughter of noted potter Helen "Feather Woman" Naha. We have been working with her at the gallery for over twenty years!  Please join Rainy in the gallery and enjoy her fantastic stories of Hopi culture, pottery, and history!

Next Week

Daryl Whitegeese, Pottery Demo 1-3 pm, June 22, 2109
Join us at our Santa Fe Gallery on Saturday, June 22, for a pottery demonstration with Daryl Whitegeese. Daryl is the son of noted potter LuAnn Tafoya and grandson of Margaret Tafoya.  His pottery demonstrations are "hands on" and a great way to learn about the art of clay!

Every Day we have new pieces online.  We appreciate you checking them out and seeing the exceptional pottery we get into the gallery!  In contemporary work, there are stunning pieces by our gallery artists. The various historic pottery includes some excellent provenance, ribbons, and stories!

Check out Instagram and Facebook for more frequent updates.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
I look forward to hearing from you!

What to learn more about how Hopi-Tewa pottery is made? Rainy covers each stage of the making, polishing, and designing process, but no, we don't fire out in the parking lot!  Check out our Stories on Instagram and Facebook to see the demonstration in progress if you can't make it on Saturday!
In 2018 Rainy Naha won the "Pueblo Pottery Excellence Award" at Santa Fe Indian Market. This award was for "Creative excellence in the use of traditional materials and Native techniques and designs in Pueblo pottery."  What a great testament to her work as a traditional potter!
New Addition Highlights!
Upcoming Santa Fe Events!
Locations
We are moving BACK to Main Street in Scottsdale!  This July, the gallery in Scottsdale will be moving three blocks south, back to Main Street.  The new location is on the corner of Main Street and Marshall Way.  It's definitely easy to find and right next to the Scottsdale Museum of the West. There will be a few weeks we will be closed during the transition but hope to be back open by July 15th!
We look forward to a grand "re-opening" this Fall!
"Forward-thinking gallerists, museum curators, and clay artists themselves are fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of Native clay arts. In the forefront is Charles S. King. Owner of King Galleries in Santa Fe and Scottsdale, Arizona.  He is considered by many to be the dean of contemporary Southwestern Native clay arts."
