Newsletter #6: End of "Summer Vacation"


The season is changing faster than the games' colour palettes!
 

What did we do on our "Summer Vacation"?

 

Kickstarter Campaign

We successfully finished our campaign at the end of June with JUST under 1200 backers! Wow! Thanks to everyone who supported us and helped spread the word. We have dived into production, hired a couple more people to help with design and animation, and have started work on all those gorgeous rewards.   
 

Our E3 Experience

Summer in Vancouver, Canada is very nice, but summer in LA is phenomenal! We got to spend a few exhilarating and exhausting days in LA with the IndieCade showcase at E3. We were humbled to be included and showcased right beside some of our heroes who made games like Gnog, Lumino City and Wattam. If you haven’t played their games, check them out.
 

Bit Bash in Chicago

Although we couldn’t attend personally, an early demo of our game was featured at the second annual Bit Bash in Chicago, a festival for unusual and compelling indie games. Shape of the World was featured beside other great titles like Metamorphabet, Gardenarium and Naut from our indie heroes at Vectorpark, Ko-Op and Titouan Millet respectively. Hope we can make it out to the windy city next summer.
 

Video Game Art Gallery Prints Available

We've partnered with the Video Game Art Gallery to produce some amazing limited edition prints. These are a slightly different size than the ones we offered through our Kickstarter campaign - and they are available NOW! Also, check out their gallery for more amazing prints of other fantastic games like Journey, Machinarium, Lumino City and Sword and Sorcery. Who says video games aren't art?

What's in store for this Fall?

 

Meet Your Fellow Indies

Brent Silk, our beloved audio designer, and I have been attending the monthly Full Indie meetup with the latest in-progress build of the game. If you are in Vancouver come by and say hi and see the game in its youth!

 

GIFs Galore

Kill Screen loves gifs as much as we do. We published a sneak peak of some new creatures on Twitter as we test out their behaviors. Follow us to see more animals scurry away.

 

Work, Work, Work

And of course, we will be madly working away on the game this fall in anticipation of beta access next spring and release next summer. We’re ramping up two new designers to build out the world and its ecosystem. We’ve got long way to go, but we’re enjoying this journey with you.
