Community Empowerment
by Design.

DSCC has re-opened our search for an Americorps VISTA to join us as a Community Empowerment Organizer. The main capacity building activities of this position are to develop toolkits, facilitation guides and a community organizing structure to empower residents in our service area and increase civic engagement. The VISTA will use the tools of graphic design to produce tangible materials, as well as interface and organize with residents across our four service area neighborhoods.

Please view the posting and apply through the Americorps website.

An AmeriCorps VISTA member makes a year-long, full-time (40 hours per week) commitment to serve on a specific project at a nonprofit organization or public agency. In return for their service, AmeriCorps VISTA members receive a modest living allowance and health benefits during their service, and have the option of receiving a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award or post-service stipend after completing their service. Find out more about the VISTA program here.
