As we get ready for our Open House and the Christmas celebrations, we take time to reflect and appreciate all of our wonderful customers and friends who have helped to make Royal Rabbit a success. We are fortunate to have fun, thoughtful and knowledgeable customers who bring joy to the tasting room every time they visit. We are also fortunate to have great staff and volunteers and good friends who believe in our dream and help us to make it a reality. We know without all of you, Royal Rabbit would not exist. We hope you will stop in during the holidays for a tasting or at quick glass of wine and raise a glass with us to celebrate the holidays. May all your days this holiday season be merry and bright.

We will be comparing the 2013 and 2014 Duke, our Cabernet Sauvignon Cabernet Franc blend. The difference between the two is the amount of Merlot that is blended into the Duke. In 2013 Roy blended 7% Merlot and in 2014 he increased the Merlot to 20%.

From the Winemaker
The 2016 harvest is in and the wine is starting to mature so tonight we are working one of our remaining 2015 red wines the Barone. My merry group of volunteers will be Samantha, who is working towards part ownership, Terri, our super employee both knowledgeable and cute, Scott, Terri's hubby, Crystal, granddaughter extraordinaire and tasting room decorator
We have tried the first and it was as good as it looked - the combination of Cherry for fruit flavors and the rich nuttiness of sherry along with the other ingredients were wonderful and even better the second day. I am looking forward to trying the hazelnut rosemary and caramel tart- the distinct flavor of hazelnuts along with the sweetness and distinct herbal flavor of fresh rosemary may even give my all time favorite (Pecan Pie) a run for its money.
If you like these let us know. If you have a recipe that pairs well with wine or features wine as an ingredient, please share it.
