Bead of Good Cheer as We Say Goodbye to January 2016

Can you believe that we are already at the end of the first month of the new year??

That went fast. So let's bead of good cheer as we continue on in 2016.

As we finish up January it reminds us that Bead At Home Newsletter is now officially 1 year old. It's been a year of learning how to communicate better with you, some have stuck around and some have left us and that's okay.

I hope you are enjoying it so far and if numbers are a sign then yes you are liking what you see well enough to hang around. We are so glad you did.

As we continue to grow and read through the site survey answers I was curious about many of you would like to see a FaceBook 'Bead At Home' group?

Since we are a staff of one right now we need to use our time wisely. 2016 needs to be a year of producing content that you have been asking for.

But if a FB group vs. page would be beneficial to you to help you through your beading journey then we need to listen to that. If it interest you then follow the link provided here, it will take you right to the group. Right now it is a 'secret' group for good reasons.

Bead At Home FaceBook Group

You do need to be a member of FB, sign in and ask to join the group. This is all new to us so we appreciate your patience as we continue to evolve.

We'll see how much response we get to know whether it is worth our attention at the moment.

FB was the #1 hangout for you, with YouTube, Google + and Pinterest all next in line.

So if FB is where you want to be then go there now and ask to join. We hope to see you there.

Cold Weather Equals Indoor Time

Cold months of winter generally means more indoor time than normal. With winter in full swing there is lots of weather about and for the eastern part of the US Snowstorm Jonas created havoc through the weekend.

Our prayers are that where ever you are that you are safe and warm with lots of beading projects to keep you busy.

We invite you to 'show and tell' us about your winter projects that have kept you occupied if the weather has kept you indoors.

Did you catch the January project of the month? It is a pair of channel set garnet hoop earrings. Garnet is my birthstone and I love channel set jewelry. I was quite taken with this project and anxious to give it a try.

But maybe you might like this list of tutorial ideas instead. This list comes from a bead-thusiast at Hubpages. There are lots of ideas for you to consider here and plan for while you are waiting for the ice or snow to melt or as you plan your projects for the rest of the year.

There are several different techniques and materials on this list to keep anyone busy.

I hope you find one out of the list. Just be sure to come back and share it with us. We'll be waiting to hear from you.

Free Training in January

As you have seen this month there has been a free training for 'Laying the Foundation' to your jewelry business.

I've been sharing this with you because this training is available for this month only and registration will close before we talk again. So I just wanted to remind you one last time.

If some of you are looking to take your new found skills to a business level then I would highly encourage you to view this free training while there is still time.

I absolutely love what Tracy shares from her own experiences, pain and failures that she endured building, growing, closing and reopening her own jewelry business.

Most of us don't want to share when we have failed and let's be honest, we are all afraid of failing.

Tracy took what she learned from her failing to winning then produced training for the rest of us to learn from her mistakes. Was it hard, yes it was...something you want bad enough that's this big always is.

Now this may not be the direction you may want to take your jewelry business but I have learned thru the years that listening to a variety of training and filling in the blank that fits me personally, I always find at least one nugget of good advice.

Principles of business can translate to many different walks.

That's okay if you are not there yet. This is merely for those that may be thinking of it.

If that is you then take a moment now to listen to Tracy's training, Laying the Foundation - 3 Steps to Your Thriving Jewelry Business.

I hope you find it helpful in your jewelry making journey and come back and share with us just one thing you took away from it.

Please Excuse the Interruption

As we come to the end of January I want to thank you for your indulgence of allowing me into your home for these special January issues.

That is unless you have requested to hear from us weekly. We won't continue to interrupt during the month unless, of course, we just have something so super special that we just can't keep it to ourselves.

Thanks for understanding and for visiting with us today. We look forward to talking again in February and hope you are safe, warm and dry where ever you might be this winter day.

Have a Great Week...

Beaded Blessings,
Betty Beader
Please be aware that I am an ambassador for F&TA and may earn a commission but I wouldn't be sharing this with you if I didn't trust it myself. It's just a small way that I am able to provide these services to you. Thanks.
