WWU to host NYU's Marion Kaplan May 18 for 'Hitler's Jewish Refugees: Hope and Anxiety in Portugal'

Western’s Department of Modern & Classical Languages and the Ray Wolpow Institute for the Study of the Holocaust, Genocide and Crimes Against Humanity will host an online presentation at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 18 with New York University Professor of Modern Jewish History Marion Kaplan, a three-time winner of the National Jewish Book Award. Kaplan will discuss her newest book, "Hitler's Jewish Refugees: Hope and Anxiety in Portugal" (Yale University Press, 2020).

Vax tools: Hundreds of slots open at Peace Health, BTC clinics

Did you miss out on the first Viking Vax Day? No worries, there are plenty of community clinics still working to get you vaccinated.
 

PeaceHealth has opened vaccine appointment slots specifically to students; simply log in and pick a time slot by clicking here.
 

The county has opened up registration for its BTC clinics on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Hundreds of slots are available! If you need your second dose and have had a hard time finding an appointment, call 360-778-6075 for scheduling assistance.

Western encourages all students who are able to get a COVID-19 vaccine to help protect our friends, families and the entire Western community! Are you a student who needs help or ideas on how to get to one of the vaccination clinics? Contact the WWU Transportation Services office at Transportation@wwu.edu. Public transportation to Bellingham Technical College is also available, and fares are currently free; you can find bus schedules and plan your trip at: http://www.ridewta.com/.
