Head's Blog:
Wow, what a term!

This first term of the academic year has been both busy and productive, and the chance to reflect whilst writing this has left me marveling at quite how much has been achieved. From themed curriculum weeks to specialist drama workshops, charity fundraising events to whole school sporting events coupled with the usual myriad of clubs, this term has certainly been somewhat breathless.

Guest Piece from Education Director

On Wednesday 14th December, parents and guests were welcomed to Wandsworth Prep School’s “Museum of Memories” – an informative and entertaining event showcasing the pupils’ learning from their Autumn Term project on World War II.

At the start of the term, pupils in Years 3 to 5 were set the task of restoring a fictitious museum which had been destroyed by fire and contained World War II artefacts. Over the course of the term, each pupil became an expert in a specific area of World War II – from Adolf Hitler and evacuation, to rationing and The Blitz.

Sam Selby, Education Director at Bellevue Education, attended last night's Museum of Memories and has shared her thoughts of it with us.

"It was a privilege to be invited along to the Museum of Memories project celebration of Key Stage 2’s learning, last night. There was clearly so much hard work from the children and a real sense of ownership and engagement came across emphatically; the experts confidently shared their learning across a range of genres and the exhibition and gallery were a tantalizing introduction to what was to come in the performance.

I was particularly impressed with the level of detail that the children were able to share about their personalised projects, their Pathé film about the differing aspects of World War II and the effort that went in to making everything look so professional."
