Head's Blog:
A broad and balanced curriculum

Whilst every Bellevue school enjoys its own unique identity, each school shares the same core belief that underpins approaches to teaching and learning and pastoral care. Whilst the core subjects of English and maths play a pivotal role in the curriculum, we strongly believe that education is not just about reading, writing and arithmetic.

British Values Assemblies

Video: We Love Learning

Every Tuesday the pupils meet together in an assembly to discuss and debate issues relating to one of the core British Values: Democracy, Rule of Law, Individual Liberty and Mutual Respect and Tolerance.  This month our focus has been centred around Rule of Law. Each week a different class has organised an interactive activity to provoke discussion and develop ideas and understanding around the theme.

Over the past few weeks, Year 4 have been learning about the digestive system. Instead of watching videos or reading about it, they decided to make the digestive system with a few handy ingredients. All you need is a Nutella and banana sandwich, a few household utensils and you're well on your way!

3, 2, 1, LAUNCH! The Year 1 and 2 Space inquiry project has begun. This week, pupils were given a set of mysterious images to investigate which were stamped 'Top Secret'. We discussed the meaning of 'top secret' and what the images were about. For example, pupils were shown images of past and future space missions.

Key Stage 2 had a fantastic time playing their first football fixture against Eveline Day School. In teams of five, they dribbled, ran and scored! We saw some fabulous sportsmanship from both sides and it really was a lovely afternoon of sport for all involved.

We can't wait for our next fixture!
