Head's Blog:
No such word as can't

Has your child ever said to you ‘There’s no point, I’ll never be able to do it’ or actively avoided doing something because they have experienced failure in a certain area in the past?

It is all too easy to convince oneself that something can’t be done; whether it be trying a new sport, making new friends, or learning a new concept. There is, however, no such word as can’t and if there were a place for it, it would not be at Wandsworth Prep. Wandsworth Prep is a growth mind-set school.

Video: Year 3 Deliver E-Safety Assembly

Wandsworth Prep opened its - now infamous - Poetry Café on Thursday 6th and Friday 7th October to coincide with National Poetry Day with its theme of ‘Messages’. Guests to the café were impressed by its cosy ambience with its black and white décor and welcoming jazz music.  This year, the focus was not just on the quality of performance but on the writing skills of each and every poet.

Last week, Year 3 thoroughly enjoyed delivering their E-safety assembly to the rest of the school. They were presenters, teachers and quiz masters and were able to confidently deliver key messages about E-safety.

Watch our short clip which promotes the 7 rules we have in our class to keep ourselves safe online.

Year 2 recently enjoyed a football match against Eveline Day School. Watch the highlights via our short video.

On Tuesday 11th October, pupils in Years 1 and 2 enjoyed a stage performance of Mrs Armitage and the Big Wave at the Clapham Picture House. Pupils were already very familiar with the book and the opportunity to see the story performed on stage really brought the story to life and enhanced their understanding of active story-telling.
