Head's Blog:
Discovering one's talent

Do you ever doubt yourself? Do you ever doubt that there is something special and unique in you that can be used to achieve something in your life that will have impact on the lives of others? What is that unique talent that you possess?

These are questions that often plague us as adults but, occasionally, caught in the midst of the responsibility-free and happy lives that children lead, we forget that children are like us...

Wandsworth Prep's School Council In Action

Key Stage 2’s World War II Assembly (Video)

Over the last few weeks, our School Council Representatives have been very busy coming up with ideas centred around the following themes:
  • School buddies
  • The School New Year Party
  • How to spend our £780 budget on new outdoor equipment

As part of their study of World War II, Key Stage 2 organised an assembly of remembrance for the whole school and their families.

As Michael Morpurgo is our author of the term, the children showed dramatic extracts from 'War Horse' and 'Private Peaceful'.  The children sang 'A Song for Armistice Day' which was very powerful and a fitting tribute.

Key Stage 2's preparation for 'The Museum of Memories' on Wednesday 14th December is hotting up! Our innovative children's museum around World War II will open for just one evening and the school is buzzing with anticipation!

As part of our research, pupils recently spent the day at The Imperial War Museum.  Not only were pupils collecting extra information for their expert area, they also evaluated how the museum is organised and how it engages its audience.

Watch a photo video of the trip.

After months of training and preparation, on Wednesday 30th November the whole school enjoyed Wandsworth Prep's very first Fantasy Football Afternoon.

Pupils practised a variety of skills - from dibbling and shooting, to passing and defending - and a lot of fun was had by all. Pupils displayed some excellent sportsmanship and it was an enjoyable afternoon of sport for all involved.

Watch a short video of the afternoon.
