2014 FCAWA Conference

On 28 and 29 October 2014, CCLSWA’s 4 solicitors and 2 of the law student paralegals presented at the state annual conference for the financial counsellors of Western Australia.  Over the 2 days, CCLSWA presented snapshots of the laws on payday loans, credit repair businesses, linked credit contracts, credit reporting and the Australian Consumer Law.
 
The  financial counsellors enjoyed CCLSWA’s sessions and learnt much form them.

CCLSWA solicitors and paralegals thank FCAWA for the opportunity to present and network with the financial counsellors.
 
The sharing of experiences from the field and the impact of the law is positive for both lawyers and financial counsellors.

UWA Social Science Lecture

On 17 and 24 October 2014 our solicitor Alicia and our paralegals Laura and Tim spoke to the  UWA Masters Social Sciences class about CCLSWA’s service and cases. The students,who are studying Masters  in Social Work valued hearing staff speak about the legal problems many people have in the  credit and consumer areas and how this can impact on individual's and families' quality of life and engagement within the community.
 
CCLSWA appreciated the opportunity to engage with the Masters Social Sciences students.
