Reaching Out in 2015!
The new year has renewed our desire at GSF to reach more into the communities around us. God has connected us to several communities in a variety of ways. Firstly, most of the GSF kids come from within our district, a primarily rural area between the capital city of Kampala and Jinja. In spite of the proximity to these two cities, most residents of Buikwe district lack the meager resources required to access things like quality education, job markets and solid Bible teaching. Secondly, Mark's Discipleship Training courses have multiplied from one group taught by Mark to 4 groups taught by 3 different men. Thirdly, government regulations are requiring closer coordination with local officials. Relationships with these families, pastors and district government officials are all leading to more open doors to reach out to the people of our district. We eagerly watch and pray as God sends us out to meet people where they are. Pray for us to fulfill the GSF Vision (posted above the kids singing in the photo above):
Making Disciples, Impacting the World for Christ!

Thanks to the MOVE Conference at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church (Marietta, GA), Mark has the opportunity to be in the states for 3 weeks, departing Uganda on February 20. The first 10 days, he will be with friends at JFBC while participating in the conference (click the logo above for more info about this conference for church and missions leaders).
March 1-11 will be spent in Tallahassee, FL with my parents. I would love to connect with those of you in the Tallahassee area. I'm grateful for the opportunity to participate in the conference, which also opened the door for a few days with my Mom and Dad.
We previously asked you to pray with us about our 2015 furlough plans, because there are so many factors to consider. Those plans are coming into view and we will share the details in an upcoming edition. Thank you for praying with us! Please continue to pray, especially for the 3 international airline tickets that we still need to purchase.

Sharon's t-shirt slogan is a beautiful expression of our hope for her.

Caralina's birthday wish this year was posted on her blog. It's a compelling story of two girls who turned 18 years old in January, just one day apart.
Caralina was born in Singapore; Sharon was born in Uganda. Please read their stories by clicking on Sharon's picture above.
Over $1,300 has already been given for Sharon's heart surgery. You can join the birthday wish by indicating "Sharon's Heart Project" on a special donation. Click the Support button below or link to it from Caralina's blog.
We are proud of Caralina for putting her heart to action. Thank you for taking part inthis special fund-raiser!
