Greetings from the Carolina Horse Park!

Volunteer of the Quarter is Back
The Carolina Horse Park is pleased to re-introduce the Volunteer of the Quarter program as part of the Volunteer Recognition Program!

Lindsay O'ReillyLindsay O'Reilly and Beth Roy are among the Park’s most loyal volunteers, generously giving their time to CHP events and always looking to improve the experiences of competitors, officials, and fellow volunteers.

Lindsay’s efforts in coordinating all the Volunteer Hospitality is greatly appreciated by all and continually draws volunteers back for future events.

Beth Roy While, Beth is a tireless volunteer at all the Winter Schooling Days and was instrumental in revamping the Schooling Day Entry Form and brainstorming how rings can be organized to make the experience better for competitors.

Ashten’s has generously donated a dinner for two to both Lindsay and Beth in recognition of their Volunteer of the Quarter awards.

War Horse Event Series Kicks-off With a Wildly Successful Weekend

Hillary IrwinThe War Horse Event Series sponsored by Southern Pines Equine Associates and Adequan launched to rave reviews on May 9th and 10th. Despite rainy and grey skies over 200 competitors came out to the inaugural competition on Sunday gaining a valuable education and taking the first steps toward year-end awards in Individual Qualification, Team Standings, and on the TIP Leaderboard.  On Saturday, more than a 100 horses and riders came out on a beautiful day in the Sandhills for the WHES Schooling Day utilizing the opportunity to school and practice all three phases in preparation for the next day’s competition.

Beth Roy“We couldn’t have asked for a more successful launch to the War Horse Event Series! On Saturday the Park had its most successful schooling day in history with so many people coming out to hone their skills ahead of the Horse Trial or just to get some valuable practice in. Even with the less than ideal weather on the competition day, it was great to see so many people come out and enjoy the Carolina Horse Park and support the Special Forces Charitable Trust. Of course none of it would have been possible without the generosity of Southern Pines Equine Associates and Adequan, as well as the great CHP staff, officials and our tireless volunteers,” said WHES Organizer Marc Donovan.

Get Involved with the Carolina Horse Park

In May, the Park hosted a diverse and robust schedule of events, none of which would have been possible without such an engaged and passionate constituency.  From organizers to volunteers, competitors, and spectators the Carolina Horse Park enjoys tremendous support from the equestrian and Sandhills community. Yet we are always looking to welcome new faces to the facility and there are a number of ways to get involved with the CHP.

Friends of the Park want to participate in seeing the Park grow and take advantage of the various benefits this program has to offer. Our “Friends” program features the opportunity for discounts at a series of equine and other retail businesses, as well as discounted fees for cross country schooling, winter schooling, and driving obstacle schooling.

Volunteers are the backbone of events at the Horse Park.  Come out and get an up-close and personal view of your equestrian heroes as they compete, and take advantage of the one-of-a-kind perks!

Donors and Sponsors are vital in ensuring the future and long term sustainability of the Horse Park. By becoming involved with these programs you will directly support the land preservation, equine safety and education and the economic growth of our community.
