This pandemic is not over.  By following safe COVID-19 protocols, you will help keep in-person learning going.

  • Please fill out the health agreement again. By Mon. Jan. 4, complete one form per student enrolled in Brookline schools.
  • If a BHS student has been outside Massachusetts, they must attend school remotely until they have been back in Massachusetts for 14 days.
  • If a person has had a negative COVID-19 test given within the last 72 hours, they may return to Hybrid.  Find information on test sites here

We are thankful for BHS administration's valiant efforts to allow BHS students to shift from hybrid to fully remote school without missing out on learning.

PSB YEARBOOK POLICY

The district's Yearbook Policy is  posted for Public Comment. It includes  many of the concerns expressed by community members over the past year or two. The current draft addresses the inclusions of students who : 1) are unable to attend school due to a prolonged hospitalization; 2)   transfer between PSB schools; and 3)  need to learn remotely. It also outlines a process to safeguard the identities of children who cannot have their name or image published for safety reasons.

The policy provides guidance for faculty advisors by outlining a clear process for evaluating inappropriate content while preserving First Amendment rights. It provides a mechanism to resolve disputes, taking the pressure off individual editors. It also speaks to the desire of faculty editors to receive specialized training for their role.

Because of the tight timelines required to get school yearbooks to print in time for a spring distribution, this policy is scheduled for a vote by the full School Committee at their January 7 meeting. If you would like to give input and express support, please email your please email your ideas to robin_coyne@psbma.org. Your comments will go to the entire committee.

SCHOOL COMMITTEE MEETING

The Brookline School Committee has been re-scheduled to Thurs. Jan. 7, 2021  at 6 pm.  Agenda and Zoom link will be here
