Dear Brookline High School Parents, Guardians, and Caretakers,

9/30 Club Fair
We had a tremendous BHS Club Fair during All Campus X-block last Thursday 9/30. Club leaders and representatives worked tables in the Pinanski Quadrangle, offering their peers all kinds of experiences - outdoors, service, intellectual, communal, etc.  See the attached photo of our students doing their thing during the Club Fair.

10/4 BHS Presentation and Tours
For one of the only times in the past 18 years, I did not spend a Thursday evening in late September experiencing Brookline High School's Back to School Night. I missed hearing our teachers share about their craft, curriculum and courses, and the classes of young people they teach and support.

I know our teachers and staff missed Back to School Night last week, too. There is something visceral about connecting parent and guardian faces and names to the students we see up close every day. The combination of good questions and generous support buoys educators; we are reminded how much our work with young people matters. We did not have that experience this September.

We are moving forward, though, with the tours of 115 Greenough Street tomorrow night: Monday 10/4 from 6:30 to 8. Join us for a 30 minute program in the Robert and Dubbs Auditorium. We then will offer tours of our 115 Greenough Street buildings and Unified Arts Building and will see the ongoing work to create a unified, contiguous Brookline High School campus.

Please use this Google Form to let us know you plan to attend the 10/4 visit. We need this information to plan our tours and for contact tracing purposes.

See you soon,

Anthony

TEACHER APPRECIATION BREAKFAST - SIGN UP

Despite the ongoing complexities of contract negotiations at BHS, the important work of educating and supporting our students continues at 115 Greenough and OLS. As part of the PTO's work to support home/school partnerships, we are organizing breakfast for BHS teachers, staff, and administrators to be served on 10/15, the day after IPRs (interim progress reports) are released. Please sign up to help bring items for the breakfast or help with logistics. There will be quick 'drop and go' arrangements for that morning.

COLLEGE ESSAY WORKSHOP - THANK YOU!

The Senior College Essay Workshop held at BHS on Saturday, Sept. 25th and was a huge success! More than 150 students received valuable help with brainstorming and writing their college essays from BHS teachers and almost 60 parent volunteers. Thank you to all the BHS teachers, staff, and  parent volunteers for supporting our seniors and for making this event possible.
